BOB BESLEY, BSc (Hons) University of Adelaide

Chairman

Bob Besley is a geologist with more than 40 years experience in the minerals industry in Asia, the Middle East, North and South America, Australia and the Pacific Rim. He spent 13 years with Unocal, seven of those as Manager of Minerals for Australia and the Pacific and was General Manager of Australmin Holdings Limited when that company developed a minerals sands project in eastern Australia and a gold mine in Western Australia. He is a Non-Executive Director of Kimberley Metals Ltd. Bob founded and was Managing Director of CBH Resources Limited. Until recently he was the Deputy Chairman of the NSW Minerals Council. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Managing Director

Chris Torrey is a geologist.  Since 2006 he has been the Principal Geologist for a Sydney-based consultancy providing geological and exploration services to exploration and mining companies in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America.  Prior to joining Silver City in April 2010 he was the Chief Consulting Geologist to Golden Minerals Company, a North American-based silver explorer.  Chris has 30 years experience in global mineral exploration and has held senior and management positions in Australia, New Zealand, United States, Indonesia and Central America.   Before joining ASX-listed Golden Cross Resources as Exploration Manager in 1996 Chris worked for large mining companies Noranda and Cyprus/Amax. He was an integral part of the Golden Cross exploration team and played important roles in corporate financing and governance. 


 


GREGORY JONES, BSc (Hons 1) (UTS), MAusIMM

Non-Executive Director 

Greg Jones is a geologist with 30 years of exploration and operational experience gained in a broad range of metalliferous commodities both within Australia and overseas. Greg has held senior positions in a number of resource companies including Western Mining Corporation and Sino Gold. His experience spans the spectrum of exploration activity from grass-roots exploration through to resource definition and new project generation, as well as mine geology, ore resource/reserve generation and new mine development. Greg was awarded the Institute Medal for academic excellence whilst at university and is credited with several economic discoveries including the Blair nickel and the Orion gold deposits in Western Australia. He is a Director of Eastern Iron Limited and PlatSearch NL and its associated company Thomson Resources Ltd.


 


IAN PLIMER BSc (Hons), PhD, FGS, FTSE, FAIMM

Non-Executive Director

Ian Plimer is inaugural Professor of Mining Geology (University of Adelaide) and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at The University of Melbourne. Ian is considered to be the world expert on the geology of the Broken Hill orebody on which he has worked and published extensively since 1968. He was Director of CBH Resources Ltd (1998 -2010), is a Director of Ivanhoe Australia Ltd (ASX:IVA, TSX), Non-Exec Director of Ormil Energy Ltd (ASX:OMX) and Kefi Minerals (KEFI:L). Ian is a Patron of Lifeline (Broken Hill) and the Broken Hill Geocentre Museum.


IAN HUME

Non-Executive Director

Mr Hume has over 30 years’ experience in the natural resources industry. He was a founding partner of The Sentient Group, a private equity fund specialising in global investment in the resources sector. From 1994 to 2000, Mr Hume served as a consultant to AMP Society's Private Capital Division, focused on international mining and telecommunications investments primarily in North and South America, Russia and the Pacific Rim. His experience prior to 1994 includes serving as a consultant to Equatorial Mining on the development of its copper assets in Chile. He has 23 years of investment management and investment banking experience for companies in Australia and the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Sentient Council, a director of Iron Road Limited (ASX:IRD) and Golden Minerals Company (TSX:AUM). Mr Hume attended both Harrow School (England) and Nice University (France).

The Sentient Group participated in the Company’s recent IPO capital raising andnow holds 17.45% interest in the Company. Shares were listed on the ASX on 6th July 2011. 
 


IVO POLOVINEO

Company Secretary

Ivo was previously Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for Sino Gold Mining Limited, formerly an ASX 100 company. He was with Sino Gold for 12 years forming part of the executive team that built the company from a market capitalisation of A$100m before it was acquired by Eldorado Gold Corporation in December 2009 for approximately $2.4 billion. Ivo is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA) with more than 30 years experience as a CFO and Company Secretary including over 20 years in the resources sector.

Ivo is currently a Company Secretary of PlatSearch NL, Thomson Resouces Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Eastern Iron Limited. He also provides consulting services to Lynas Corporation Ltd, an ASX 100 company.
